This year's Drama Night packs a punch, plus a whole lot of out-of-this-world. It features our SYF piece I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream which retells the award-winning short story by Harlen Ellison about the struggles of survival of five human beings in the post-apocalyptic world of the super computer, AM. The piece infuses science fiction with horror and surrealism, which means the audience can only expect the unexpected.
Drama Night also features Cinderella the musical. If you're thinking about the typical school staging of the fairy tale, you're wrong. This Cinderella was written and directed by Andrea and Sal, along with friends from the Dramatic Society. It also happens to be a Glee-style comedy musical about feisty Cinderella and the witty new-age Prince. Following the success of last year's musical The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane, we hope to give you more fun, more wit, more music and more drama - all in one hour with Cinderella the musical.
We have also arranged for a guest performance by an up-and-coming drama group. Be prepared to be amazed as they collaborate with a homegrown dramatist, well-liked in his craft. More information will be released later.
