AAAAAAAND It's the end of the year.
Well technically we have about four more days. Still, what's four more days, right?
Especially with the amount of work I have to get done, and the Emcees are down for OGL training or something.
Well... Let's see. 2009. What a year, huh? Personally loads of Ups and Downs. Of course. I mean, what's life without those.
And here are some highlights of my year (in no order)
1. New friends! Lots and lots of new friends. And they're proving to be a bunch of wonderful people.
2. The Drama Club. A great experience, more friends, more work, but it's what I love. And I'm confident of our batch, and 2010's DramaNight!
Heads Up: SNL, SYF, DramaNight.
3. Michael Jackson. A terrible loss which affected me so much. And what better way, than a tribute movie. This Is It. MJ will never die.
4. Best Theatre Experience. To be honest, I watched a some really good ones this year. ITheatre's Fairytale Heart was a simple traditional piece of theatre with a plot that moves the heart in a sensational way. Stages' H Is For Hantu was a one-of-a-kind comedy/musical/puppetry thing which entertained me in a familiar way - humour. SRT's Much Ado About Nothing was indeed something. A different experience for us as we sat under the stars and were bedazzled by the amazing set, the great acting and the magic of Shakespeare. And of course, Zebra Crossing's take on the Broadway classic Victor/Victoria. That was of course, this year's Broadway thing to look out for in Singapore. A great experience for us who are deprived of Broadway.
Heads Up: Chicago, The Lion King.
5. Best Movie experience. I didn't watch many movies this year. So Avatar isn't in this list. Well, basically I really liked Micheal Jackson's This Is It. A documentation of MJ's rehearsals for his concert. Well I like it mainly because I'm a huge fan of MJ. The movie allowed us fans to see what MJ is really like in rehearsals, and also to sing along his legendary songs in the cinema. Another movie experience I remember vividly is Disney's UP. It was simply magical. I've never been so wowed by an animation with such simple characters - a boy, an old man, a talking dog, a strange bird (Which I really love). Up.
Heads Up: Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland.
6. Best Music. Well, this is random, but some artistes I like that have made an impact on the music scene. Lady Gaga with Poker Face, Just Dance, Paparazzi, Bad Romance, and many many more. Beyonce with Halo, Diva, Single Ladies, and Telephone (with Lady Gaga). Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow. Britney Spears - Womanizer. The Wonder Girls - Nobody. Mariah Carey - Obsessed. Taylor Swift.
Heads Up: Look out for Adam Lambert. And also the amazing covers by the cast of GLEE!
7. Movers and Shakers. Heath Ledger (For the Dark Knight, and then passing on). Micheal Jackson (for a shocking death, weeks before his legendary concert). Barrack Obama (For breaking racial barriers). Ris Low (for being herself). B (no explanation needed). Adam Lambert (for being hugely talented, popular, and openly gay, and for his overtly sexual performance of For Your Entertainment on Live TV). Adrian Pang (for his appearance everywhere: Much Ado About Nothing, Red Thread, Polo Boys, and his singing debut in the new year party, singing Let It Rock. Oh and watch out for The Pupil.). The iPhone (for being the iPhone). The Economy (for being slumpy).
Heads Up: You can't tell, can you?
8. New Hangouts! Ion. It might be too dreary because of its depth into the ground, and the claustrophobic atmosphere, but it still offers many favourites and boasts a large variety of everything. Plus, it's shiny at night. Tampines One. If you haven't been there, you should. If you're into shopping anyway. It has many many favourite outlets and lots of food stuff that you can rarely find. One crowd pleaser is J.Co Donuts. If you're thinking of going to Orchard Central, think again. It's layout is strange, and the range is weird. A boring mall when I was there anyways. Try the rooftop garden though, it's beautiful. 313 @ Somerset anyone?
Heads Up: I don't know any :(
Well, that's about all for now. Might continue this list. Might.
But for now, everyone, do enjoy the last few days of 2009 before we welcome the dawn of a new year. 2010 is coming our way and it's just around the corner!
Happy Holidays, everyone.
