It's Unbecoming...

Oh lol blogger is phailing. AGAIN. so now, everything i see in the edit post page is white. Kinda minimalistic.

Anyways, this week has been crazy. Especially for Drama Club. Been working on Teacher's Day skit and it's so hard cos people are not coming and so we can't rehearse properly. And like, when we DO rehearse, we're always chased out the classrooms by the lady who locks up the doors. A bit of bargaining worked though. Plus she claims that she likes us. Heeh.

On top of that, we're discussing everything we're doing next year. SYF, Dramanight, SNL and this year's open house. Open house plans are wicked cool. Don't be alarmed at the zombies roaming the campus! Plus, I'll be preforming a duologue in the PT with Saku! It's gonna be fun. For SYF, we're starting on the script soon. Like next week or something. Dramanight will be after promos. Yes. We planned out our timeline. So we don't get lost or side tracked. Hopefully we pull it off with a great big bang of a success. Thanks again to Timothy for the idea for the SYF piece! Be honoured when we perform it next year!

Next week, there's teachers day performance, monos, and my two duos to perform. Plus, two critical commentaries, that's gonna take forever to churn out. No more sleep lah....

H Is For Hantu!

The amazing play I watched on Thursday night at Alliance Francaise. H is For Hantu is truly an original and one-of-a-kind experience for audiences of all backgrounds. It revolves around a kampung boy who has been friends with the ghosts in his village. When the village is threatened to be relocated and torn down to make way for new HDB developments, Sazali and the ghosts go all out to convince the HDB agent not to do so. Along the way, strange things happen and they soon set out to find all the ghosts in the kampung to solve teh mystery of the Hantu Cina (the Chinese Ghost).

The play follows the vibrant style of Malay and kampung culture, imbibing elements of Malay arts like Wayang Kulit (shadow puppetry), Malay dance, Dikir Barat, music and the design aspects. From start to end, you will not find yourself in a theatre, but in a kampung and sometimes a forest. With the company of Sazali and his ghostly companions, this musical piece is bursting with energy, humour, colours, characters and an intimate audience relation, which makes you tired at the end of the whole thing. On top of that, the catchy songs will be haunting you on your way home. Overall, a splendiferous performance and a gem in the local theatre scene, a must watch for all residents of Singapore. Dead or alive. Expect some nominations at the next local theatre awards.

The Final Countdown

Oh my oh my oh my oh my
So many things happening and so many things to do, yet so little time. I might as well not sleep for the next six weeks. Yes, that's right, SIX WEEKS to Promos. 'F' all our lives.
Anyway, I have nothing to say here. Hah i don't know, mental block maybe?
Oh did you know it's already week 8 into term 3? yep, how time flies. Feels like it was just yesterday when Econs was just "A social science" to everyone. Now it's the most common cause of sleep deprivation whether directly induced by the desperate mugging, or the sleeplessness that comes with the fear of the upcoming promos.
So sad. Everything picks up. Feel the burn, everyone! Feel it and take it all in, second by second. Pull out your hair and tear out your tee shirts, cos things are about to get even messier.

Magical Hands!

I swear something's wrong with the magnetism in my hands. Or maybe it's the static electricity. Nothing happened to my card. Suddenly when I tried to tap into the MRT, the faregates don't respond to my card. After trying again and again at different fare gates to no avail, I gave up. Went up to the lady in the glass box. She said my card was faulty, and that I had to replace it at Pasir Ris. And so now, I have no EZ Link card to use.
"Take MRT must pay adult fare."

There I go, sulking on the train all the way to Simei. Got off, and the STANDARD TICKET wouldn't tap out. I was pissed off. SMRT hates me. That, or my hands are magical beyond repair. TSK. And the whole train journey, my handphone had difficulty with network connections. I don't know if I'm destroying waves, but the magnet in the card and the handphone waves could have been affected by me.

Walking home, I thought to myself.

Look on the bright side, at least you get to change the photo on your EZ Link card. No more fat boy in primary school.

The House

Speak of no evil in here.
I'd rather live no more.
On this fright night I vow
to hear but never to listen for.
Feel trembles when they knock;
Do nothing when they come.

Masked and unseen, they too appear.
Bringing the evils of life in misfortune;
piled upon desperation's old misery.
In shelter without protection,
In company but solitary,
tarnished by the bad.

I will not open the door
nor will I open the windows.
Let there be no wind
rather than the scent of evil
pervading my abode.
Let there be no light,
nor let there be darkness.
Do not answer their calls, he says.
I posit to never receive any at all.

The strangers might attack,
but only from outside.
But when they do,
I will be laughing,
trapped inside.

Thoughts

Monos went well.
Crit Comm sucked.
Feeling Fab was random.
Don't feel safe at my house anymore.
50 Days to Promos.
Like people.
Hate people.
Problematic.
