They say all good things come to an end. I think the b**** who made that up sucks. Because it’s kinda true. Of course, before the good things end, we as humans who feel should realise what purpose it served in that period of our life. Friendship is one of those good things. Its purpose is unexplainable, because you can’t put it in normal words. It ends up being reflected in how much time you spend with friends, how much you appreciate them, whether you remember their birthdays, and of course, how much you miss them when they go.
For this chapter of my life in the VIP, there are a few special people I want to thank. Before we part and go our separate ways in life. [In alphabetical order]
Amanda
I only got to know you better this year. But it’s been great. Your facial expressions are quite amusing. It’s always fun to see how you react to the stupidest things I happen to blurt out. Your sudden bursts of dramatic-ness are really something to admire. Thank you for being the one in my table group thing to give me the disappointed look or the “don’t even think about it” look when I manage to think of stupid things. Thanks for making me feel comfortable in your presence, and for the little encouragements along the way.
Ashley
I like how you manage to make me laugh just by laughing yourself. It’s contagious, you know. I think you’re very funny and you never fail to make me laugh – whether with you or at you. At your antics. Thanks for sharing gossip. Thanks for all the fun times we had, especially in Dubai! You were, what, pregnant? Haha. Thanks for the laughs we share about Videomaniac, Articulate Mammal, and wannabes. Hey, develop on your love for poms and perhaps start your own business – iPom. Hah, I will be thinking of you especially when I think about poms!
Asyraf
I have known you for four years, now. And it’s been great having your company. You impress me with your puns and jokes. Although, need to work on your punchlines – they have no kick. (Get it? Punch and kick! XD ) I enjoy Malay lessons with you, especially since we started exploring Malay puns! And VS CSP lessons, haha. Why you quit!? Loser… Okay lah, fine, your Chinese sucks J but your Malay is good! Thanks for letting me talk about myself sometimes and for listening. Thanks for the outings we had together, even to the mosque on Fridays. Everytime I think of a pun I’ll think of what Asyraf would say… I will also think of you when someone talks to me about soccer J
Darren
I met you officially last year at the bowling outing we had just before the barbecue. I like admire your ability to lead. It was rather apparent, of course, when you were our group leader last year! Haha thanks for being so on task and for tolerating all our nonsense. And thanks for all the little cracks you make about people during assembly and whatnot. I will remember how we spend each morning playing bridge. Oh and thanks for helping me out in bridge, and also for attempting to educate me about the game of Dai Di or Tai Ti, however you spell it. Haha.
Gabriel
Where do I begin…? I admire your calmness at every situation. I think you are one who does care about people and I can see it in the way you treat your peers. Your gentle approach to people and your sense of humour balances out, I guess. Ever since SC, I saw you mature into a more responsible person. Although, the change might be very slight. Since you still come late, you still own Timbuk2 and you still can’t remember when our next play is. But it’s still improvement. And as I’ve said before, it’s never too late to Gai Guo Zi Xin. It’s amazing, your humour. All over it is scattered with sex and racism and chauvanism and cheek and raging hormones. And I notice you learn the art of pun-ing quite fast. Of course, Asyraf deserves some credit for this. Your ability to make people feel comfortable amazes me. Thanks. Thank you for supporting me in my pursuit of drama, and for helping out in the CIP thing. Thanks for supporting the art yourself! I look forward to watching your performance this Christmas season. Thanks for all the moral support and encouragement I needed sometimes. For the chats we have about stuff, sometimes about nothing important. And also, thanks for being you, and for reminding me that people make mistakes all the time. I wish you good luck in Soccer and hopefully you make the first team. And whatever happens, do not give in to Mats-ism. Also, for your sake, I hope you pass your Chinese O Levels. (You should take your dictionary back) Thanks again for everything. I will definitely miss you.
Gracilia
I have never been grouped with you but I think I know you J I like how your selfless nature brings people around you closer together. I think you’re really cool and you look especially good playing softball. Have I ever told you I really like your name? It’s really cool. Anyways, thanks for laughing at my jokes sometimes. And thanks for being a part of our class, and for making it more fun. I will always remember your sarcasm, it makes me laugh. All the best.
Gwen
I think you are one of a kind. Your obsession with Voldie and the villains and old people with white hair is simply amusing. I actually think you’ve got a point. See, it’s really hard for villains to be lovable. But you happen to see it the other way! And your antics make me laugh all the time. [Quote, “What’s a Ho Ching?”] Haha. I will remember you for all that stuff. And you obsession with voldie especially.
Jie Qi
You’re quite the entertainer. You get into comic moments without being pulled in and you drag others along with you. I think you’re doing a good job as class treasurer. And thanks for doing all the money stuff. Thanks for all the brilliant ideas for the class and for outings. Thanks for adding to the fun factor of our people. I wish you good luck in Harmoc, and your struggle to speak good English J Haha. All the best in everything you do.
Kevin
I admire your undying want to motivate people and brainwash them in things like IP Assembly, school stuff, and everything else. Your child-like nature stands out and makes you visible. This coupled with your edge in IQ and leadership, of course. Thanks for being the laughing stalk sometimes, and being able to laugh at yourself. Thanks for helping me with the prom clothes shopping and in math as well. It is much appreciated.
Leonora
First of all, I just wanna say, I love your name. It’s so classy. Your ability to balance fun and serious work is hugely apparent and I think most people would agree to that. And this makes you a very approachable and lovable person, willing to have fun while doing work as well. I think you have great potential and I’m impressed. I will remember all the fun times we had in our group, at Articulate Mammal, Philosophy and Theatre and The World. Thanks for making conversations livelier and for all the help in school work. In fact, you’re the one who made me understand that the number of moles = mass over Mr. Thanks for sharing tha gossip! Thanks for the happy times we had in Dubai and in school. Oh and thanks for working on our Theatre piece with me, for the Exceptional band J Haha. All the best and thanks for everything.
Lucas
I think you’re a pro in everything. Haha but I’m still better. You have an amazing vibe when you talk to people and this makes your person an easy-going and lovable one. I find it fun, sometimes, to talk to you – even about the randomest of things – becasause you always have some fun fact to share. Your accent is really cool. The first time I talked to you (which was at the barbecue), I found your accent quite… cool. [Lack of a better word =P ] Haha. You always make me feel happy. Sometimes the things you do are weird, that it just makes me laugh. Your jokes sometimes are really crude or mild, but still funny. And so I thank you for that. Thanks for being so honest and for being so approachable. Thanks for helping me out with stuff and giving me moral support. Thanks for being the best group leader for bio! Thank you for being very supportive and for being part of class outings. They’re really fun with you around. I think you have huge potential and you will do very well in the future. Good luck.
Norman
To most people you suck. You’re evil and you’re just mean. But you’re nice to me. J I think what people don’t see is that being a leader takes guts. It takes skill. Of course, being a succesful leader takes a whole lot more. Which is why you do the things you do. I think you did your best and I applaud you for that. Your hunour is one that is quite undiscovered. I think Timothy might agree with me on this one. It’s really cold and so crude that really, it’s hilarious. Thanks for being CT rep, I say. Thanks for being leader in some of our projects. Thanks for your help in homework and stuff. I will remember you for you have inspired me.
Shermaine
Your gentle ways seem to hide something, I’m not sure… Haha. I think you’re a really good conversationalist. It’s been fun talking to you on the way home, on the bus to SL, or whenever we do talk. You seem to be a happy person, and this kinda resonates across to the people you talk to. I will remember you for your sarcasm sometimes, your pink Hippo, your sweet smile J Thanks.
Si Min
I think your funniness comes from when you try too hard to either be normal, or to convince people of a certain theory you made up. It’s funny when you laugh at yourself in the end, and I think that’s one of your best skills, lol =P haha joking. I think you come across as soft-spoken and sweet and it makes me feel comfortable being around you. Thanks for being on flight entertainment on my journeys home and in Dubai, and for all the thoeries that actually made sense (not many). I will miss you and your sheep-ly aura.
Timothy
It’s funny how sometimes it feels like you’re an older brother to me, but really, you’re 60 days younger. Maybe, you’re just really tall. I appreciate how conversations with you are never dry or boring. They really have value in them – entertainment value and human value! Your outer energy is really amazing and I think it’s really fun being around you. You always have things to say and music to share, and I really appreciate that. Thanks for sharing a part of your life. Thanks for all the fun times we had; the outings, the breaktimes, the walks out of school, whatever. Thanks also for being a pillar of support when I’m in need of it. You always give good encouragement and advice. Thanks for also being yourself. You’re a really cool person. I admire how you do things your way and you do well at it. Being with you has taught me that life is too short to hold anything back. Thanks. I wish you good luck in everything including Dance, JC life, bowling, your singing (which rocks btw), and just everything. I will remember you for a long time.
Umar
I’m not sure if you’re reading this, but here it goes. I think you do have the mind to think through issues, so thanks for sharing your opinions with me about things. I think your humour is one of a kind. Thanks for sharing it with me. I know I might have been a real a** to you at times, so I’d just like to apologise, sincerely. I do think you have the potential to be someone well-known and respectable. Good luck.
Wadee
You probably don’t know this but your character really makes me laugh. Some of the things you do are seriously hilarious. Sometimes, it’s funny because you confuse yourself over jokes. Like the one about print-prant-prunt, and the wireless computer that’s hollow. Hah it’s really fun having you around, like during Dubai trip. I had lots of fun with you around. Thanks, and good luck.
Wan Qing
I remember I sat at the same table with youat the welcome tea. My first impression of you was that you were friendly; and you are. Conversations with you can be really weird because you don’t make sense, but they’re really fun. I think it’s funny how you verbalise your thoughts. Oh I remember we had to share a mushroom or something, but of course being a partypooper, I didn’t quite do it as romantically as it could have been =P . Haha. Thanks for being there during class outings and for making the class more fun.
Willie
You were in my group once. That was fun. I think you’re really quite a character. Always in your own world, thinking about random things like Jumper and bunnies and whatnot. Your weird and nonconventional ways amuse me all the time. I think that if people don’t know you too well, they wouldn’t know of your high intellectual capacity. To think about issues normal people don’t. To think of great jokes and to memorise the millions of words which all mean the same thing – stuck up. All the best in fencing and school and romance and everything you set out to do.
Xian Hui
Uh, I was never grouped with you, so I rarely get the chance for a really good conversation with you. But we still do have conversations. Like on Prom night! Thanks again for the lift. I think your gentle approach makes for a nice person and it’s been fun talking to you. Good luck.
Yasmin
It’s funny how you’re born earlier than most of us. Your youthful energy seems to transcend any boundary of the people and situations you meet. It’s been a great two years knowing you. We have had CSP and Malay lessons together and it’s been fun having you around. Your naivetee makes it more fun to poke fun at you but I know you prefer not knowing what we talk about sometimes J . Thanks for all the little chats we have discussing certain issue. Thanks for being trustworthy in keeping somethings to yourself. And thanks for being a great friend. All the best in everything you do.
Yi Wen
Hey it’s been fun having you around. I will always remember our Heritage Trail, when we kinda got cheated. Haha. I think you’re a ball of energy and it’s amazing how you keep it up. Thanks for making school more fun. Good luck in everything you do.
And of course, saving the best for the last…
Adeeb
I think you’re hot and you rock. When I grow up, I wanna be just like you.
